The American company, Joule, produces renewable transportation fuels from waste CO2, sunlight and non-potable water.

The Israeli company Phoebus Energy has developed a retrofit system that utilizes unused thermal energy from existing air-conditioning systems to reduce and optimize energy use for heating and cooling water by up to 70%.

The Global Opportunity Explorer simultaneously showcases 300 of the most innovative urban climate solutions from cities around the world. The solutions are included in the 2015, 2016 and 2017 editions of the Cities100 reports – a collaboration between C40, Realdania and Sustainia.

Aside from mapping a world of cutting-edge innovation and new markets, the Explorer aims to help business leaders, entrepreneurs and investors connect with new partners, projects and markets to foster more partnerships for the SDGs, while creating a greener and fairer world by 2030.
