Client VIA University College | 2019
Together with VIA University College, Sustainia created a dialogue around how to bring the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals into the core of VIA’s teaching. To do this, Erik Rasmussen, Sustainia’s founder, led a speakers series at VIA University College’s campus inviting prominent and inspiring SDG pioneers to speak.
The challenge
As the Sustainable Development Goals are goals for the future, it is important that they are taken to heart by and used as professional drivers by what will become the future workforce. Thus the SDGs need to be discussed at an understandable level across generations and brought into the teaching space for their full implementation.
The solution
Sustainia organised and put together a speaker series at VIA University College led and moderated by Sustainia’s founder, Erik Rasmussen. For each event, Erik was joined by prominent SDG pioneers to explain and discuss the 17 SDGs to inspire students and other guests. The three invited guest speakers were Mads Nipper, CEO of Grundfos, the star athlete Rikke Rønholt, and the gastronomic entrepreneur and food activist Claus Meyer.
“It is at the educational institutions that the Global Goals really meet the future, and therefore it is extremely important to bring them on board. At VIA University College I have experienced a commitment that I have not seen elsewhere”
